Description
The Stones and Gems Series explores more monochromatic color palettes. I set out to pay homage to the complex, natural shapes and patterns found in malachite, amethyst and other precious stones. Nature has such beauty and power — I wanted to capture that so that people could incorporate large renditions of these shapes and colors into their daily lives. I am also enamored with the idea that precious gemstones carry different powers, energies and meanings. These paintings are meant to be visually striking, transporting the viewer in whatever way resonates most.

Mexican Agate (Crazy Lace Agate):
Mexican Agate is called the Laughter Stone or “Happy Lace.” It is known as a stone of support and encouragement, elevating thoughts and promoting optimism. This stone brings joy and helps eliminate negative energies, transforming them to powerful and uplifting ones. Its often colorful design and random lacy patterns strengthen the body and mind by bringing peace and calmness, promoting inner stability, composure, and maturity. Its warm, protective properties encourage security and self-confidence. It is also thought to be very helpful during pregnancy.
